How we started
Urologist Stijn de Vries noticed during his consultations how difficult it is to convey information properly to patients. From the need for effective supportive learning tools, the idea of using videos to improve knowledge transfer was born in 2015. Informed specialises in making medical information understandable for patients with limited health literacy and streamlining knowledge transfer for healthcare providers.

More problems in healthcare

Staff shortage

There is now a shortage of 43,000 people. If we do nothing, that shortage will rise to 190,000 employees in 10 years.

Insufficient time

Time is scarce for both carers and patients, while people with limited health literacy consume more care.

High healthcare costs

The annual additional healthcare costs in the Netherlands due to the healthcare consumption of patients with limited health literacy has been calculated at as much as €300 million.
